High school debaters seeking nationally competitive instruction can enhance their skills through this residential program in Lawrence, KS. Taught by experienced adult instructors, including University of Kansas professors and PhD students, participants receive intensive training in debate theory, case construction, strategy, and refutation. The program provides access to KU’s extensive library and online research databases, alongside 750+ pages of digital evidence. Students engage in extensive practice debates and speeches with personalized feedback, culminating in practice tournaments. Designed for novice, intermediate, and advanced levels, the curriculum focuses on policy debate, including a specialized K Lab for critical argumentation.
