About this camp
High school students aged 15-17 can explore STEM disciplines at SWE Events, a residential engineering camp in Ann Arbor, MI. The program focuses on academic STEM activities within a university setting. Participants engage in direct learning about various engineering fields. The camp provides an overnight experience, suitable for those interested in a focused introduction to engineering concepts.
Upcoming sessions
During spring break, a group of U-M SWE members travel to Chicago public schools to expose students to engineering practices and concepts in their classrooms through hands-on workshops on ROV building, cybersecurity, coding, mechanical engineering, and more. Students receive mentorship opportunities from SWE members to gain advice about college life, financial aid, research, and more.

Together with the UM College of Engineering, SWE hosts a week-long career exploration program for approximately 40 high school students. This program gives them the opportunity to work on a week-long design project in teams, learn valuable skills through counselor-led workshops, meet and ask questions of college students and faculty, participate in corporate tours of local engineering companies, and experience the excitement of living in a college residence hall.
