The ND Waterfowl Brigade offers a five-day, overnight program in Washburn, ND, focusing on waterfowl ecology. Designed for teenagers aged 13-17, this program provides hands-on education and field experiences related to waterfowl hunting and habitat conservation. Participants engage directly with wetlands, grasslands, and other environments essential for North Dakota's waterbirds. The primary activity is nature exploration and conservation education, emphasizing practical knowledge of wildlife and their habitats. This training specifically addresses the ecology of ducks and various other waterbird species found in the region. The program includes both educational sessions and outdoor field components, providing a comprehensive introduction to waterfowl conservation principles. It serves as an intensive nature training experience. Adults are sought as Flock Leaders to mentor five to six teenagers, participating in all program activities, which include physically demanding elements like walking through scrub and outdoor exercises.
