About this camp
Younger campers, ages 8-12, can acclimate to an overnight camp environment at NC Llama Trek at SOAR in Balsam, NC. This adventure camp features a low staff-to-camper ratio, providing support for maintaining belongings and personal hygiene. Time spent at basecamp helps children adjust to being away from home, while still engaging in outdoor adventure activities. The highlight of the program is the 3-day, 2-night Llama Trek Expedition. Campers also participate in rock climbing and other outdoor adventure activities, gaining experience with experiential education and life skills development throughout their stay. This program is designed for children who benefit from additional support during outdoor adventure programming.
