About this camp
First Sail offers sailing instruction in Oden, MI for ages 8-18. The camp's curriculum emphasizes fundamental sailing skills, including rigging, launching, independent sailing, nautical terms, knot tying, and safe seamanship practices. Youth classes are structured in 5-day sessions. Advanced classes are available for experienced sailors, focusing on racing tactics. Participants can also engage in a Sunfish Racing Series. Private lessons are offered in addition to group classes. Scholarships are available. This camp focuses on developing practical sailing abilities on Crooked Lake.

This morning session from 10:00am – 12:30pm is great for new and intermediate sailors (ages 8-18) as the breeze is usually light. It is a great way to start the day.

Learn more / RegisterThis afternoon session from 1:00pm – 3:30pm is for more experienced sailors (ages 8-18) who know the basics and want to improve their skills, master new boats, and learn to race, as stronger wind and bigger waves provide challenge.
