High school students seeking academic support in STEM can benefit from online tutoring offered by the DC Summer STEM Academy. This program provides focused instruction for students aged 12-18, delivered by veteran math educator Andrew Callard. Sessions are designed to enhance understanding and reinforce skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Located in Silver Spring, MD, this non-profit initiative primarily serves students currently attending DC Public Schools, DC Public Charter Schools, or Title I schools in Maryland or Virginia. The hour-long online tutoring sessions are available throughout the summer. Scholarship funds offer 10-15 eligible students up to six free online tutoring sessions. These sessions provide direct, individualized support to improve academic performance and confidence in core STEM subjects.
