About this camp
This is a day camp program that provides structured experiences and skill-building activities. It operates primarily at the Michigan United Conservation Club (MUCC) Cedar Lake Nature Center in Chelsea, Michigan, for most weeks. Campers are transported to this site from the Ann Arbor JCC. One session per summer is also offered at the Ann Arbor JCC itself. Activities at Cedar Lake include aquatics (swimming, fishing, boating), archery, field sports and games (soccer, kickball, volleyball, gaga), arts and crafts at the Creation Station, and nature activities like hiking and simple survival skills. Folklore programs involve music, drama, and improv. "Wacky Wednesdays" feature theme days, and "Mensch Programming and Shabbat" focus on togetherness, intention, and reflection. If severe weather occurs, camp activities relocate to the Ann Arbor JCC. Older participants can join leadership programs. The Atid Leadership Program is for middle schoolers and entering 9th graders (7th-9th grade), challenging them to develop leadership skills through traditional camp activities, assisting younger campers, community excursions, and service projects.
