This Michigan camp offers overnight summer programs for youth aged 8-17 from Kent and Ottawa counties, situated on Lake Michigan. The primary summer camp experience includes physical activities like swimming, hiking, and biking, alongside learning opportunities such as archery, canoeing, and various workshops. A core philosophy is making camp accessible to all kids, especially those from low-income backgrounds, with a sliding fee scale where most families pay $80 or less for a one-week camp. Beyond the general summer camp, specialized programs are available. The STEM Academy is a four-week overnight program for invited middle school students (entering 6th-8th grades), focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math, while strengthening social-emotional learning. Teens aged 14-17 can participate in the Young Leaders program, which develops leadership skills. Camp Blodgett emphasizes inclusion, diversity, equity, and access, striving to serve children traditionally excluded from recreational and educational programs. Day camps are also offered during the school year at various locations, including the West Olive facility, free of charge.
